Nothing to do to save his life

This could have been better. Bridgeport got no shots to Thomas Greiss on back-to-back power plays in the first period. They took two leads and could have padded both. The tying goal bounced in, unluckily for Mike Morrison and his teammates.

This could have been worse. The Sharks put shots wide off turnovers.

This could have been different. Others have been more critical of Nygel Pelletier before, but you kind of see what they mean today.

This could have been quieter. But the kids wouldn’t have had as much fun.

This could have been later. Ditto.

This could have been one of those leads you hold onto, cling onto. This could have been two points, two of eight that have slipped away so far.

So in four months, this could be one of those days you look back to. You never do know.

A girl was dinged with a puck in the second period, but word is she’s OK with a couple of stitches.

The weekly stuff may be a little different this year than last; we may run a feature Sunday, as we did last week and likely will this week. But the rail stuff returns Thursday, including a note on shutout streaks that got me digging this morning, and a note on uniforms.

So Joe Rullier has been suspended but doesn’t have penalty minutes yet. That’s got to be kind of rare.
