Louis, Lou-ay

Here’s indirect evidence of the difference in Bridgeport from last year to this year: Louis Robitaille.

In particular, now he’s being Louis Robitaille against Bridgeport.

In Robitaille’s first three seasons, he played eight games against the Sound Tigers, collecting only four minors. Last year, he played seven more, picking up three minors and one misconduct in a semi-isolated incident.

He could be a pest, but who was swinging back?

This year, he had a minor and a major in the first game at Bridgeport, fighting Morency. He sat the first game at home. And, Sunday, he had one of those nights we had really only heard about.

To summarize: 15 games against Bridgeport before this year, 24 PIM. Sunday, 24, making it 31 this year.

Now, you don’t want to see it escalate, and we’re glad it stopped where it did, but it was something different. I know some of those fans who were flipping him off knew about Robitaille before that. But how many of them expected that to happen?

Morrison has a new lid; pix and story on the BST site.

The Admirals start to look more like the Admirals with the addition of Mathieu Darche and Craig MacDonald. Interesting story on former Yalie (and onetime BST training-camp invitee) Ben Stafford on the AHL’s site. (tip o’cap: Patrick Williams.) The Loonie’s rise helps some minor leaguers.

And what’s this bug that’s going around? Kinda dizzy.
