Standings point

This is the latest into a season that a Sound Tigers team has ever finished a day in last place in their division. They dropped within two points of last-place Albany a couple of times in February 2005 but always pulled out of it.

That says more about the strength of past Sound Tigers teams (and past Albany teams, in that 2004-05 case) than any weakness of this year’s team. Even in seventh, Bridgeport is right now four points out of a tie for second; it has games in hand on everyone except Hershey, too. Five of the seven teams in the East Division are within four goals of even, GF/GA. (The exceptions, even after 7-3 tonight, are Philly and Norfolk.)

And now I really have to nap.
