Everybody have fun tonight

Ol’ Pessimist in the media asked Tambellini about what it was like to take 56 shots and score three goals.

“Well, we got three tonight, compared to the zero we got last night,” Tambellini said. “We put a couple past him. It’s a start. We’ll take the three goals and take it from there. We’re not going to get too disappointed we didn’t get six tonight.”

Yup, they go away happy.

The morning talk was about “(n)ot taking anything for granted,” Capuano said. “We’ve got a young team. Guys are going to go through a lot of adversity. They had fun tonight. They weren’t afraid of making mistakes. Young kids are going to make mistakes.”

Fewer tonight than other nights.

The rule is that a legitimate follow-through isn’t to be called high-sticking, and that’s what appeared to happen when Ivan Khomutov’s stick came up and clipped Joe Rullier in the second. He came back in time to score his 23rd career goal in his 449th career AHL game.

Benoit Mondou has scored three goals this season: one in each game against Bridgeport.

Tough start for Wade Dubielewicz tonight.

Longtime AHL writer Kevin Oklobzija in Rochester has a new blog (tip to Patrick Williams on the find), and the start is obviously a lot of off-ice stuff.

Bill Ballou says next year’s All-Star Game will be in Worcester. Two in a row in driving distance? Wow.

Couple of days off coming up, so it may be quiet. (Or now that I’ve said so, it’ll be crazy. Who knows.)
