Philly Phlop

Did I say it would be good to be here? Ugh.

A good first shift, anyway. And then a penalty on the third shift, and then a goal for Philly on the fourth. Bridgeport had chances, but as Newtown’s Own Pete Zingoni said, Philly kept them outside, mostly. Scott Munroe was good, and he got help when he needed it, and…

And it wasn’t much to look at. Some bad goals, occasional chaotic coverage.

Capuano mentioned about how they have to get people going other than Tambellini. Interesting stat in the gamer.

It was a good couple of weeks. Let’s see which way it goes from here.

Regier is out with a broken bone in his hand; he said he got it Monday at Bingo, blocking a Niko Dimitrakos shot on that early five-on-three. It’s a deal where he can play if he can handle it, but the bigger problem right now is handling the puck: He can’t grip a stick. Meanwhile, Jason Pitton is expected to be available to play Wednesday.

It was “Superhero Night” here. Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, the Amazing Spider-Man — they were all here, did a tug-of-war in the first intermission. I tried out a lead that mentioned how none of them could help the Sound Tigers on Sunday. I scrapped it. I tried out a lead about how Scott Munroe belonged in that list. I scrapped that, too. You’re welcome.

First time seeing the new Phantoms Edge jerseys. Hoo boy. The C’s and A’s go right over a biiig stretch of purple piping, which makes them almost invisible from up here.

And, of course, Okposomania will soon be in full effect. (Think of Binghamton as that detour on Vee-Jay.) Cue the screaming kids. We’re sending Scott Muni* and Cousin Brucie over to the hotel right now.

(If we were really to carry this out, we’d have to cut some commercials for the “Connecticut Ok-Post,” wouldn’t we?)

*-If only we could.
