Here we are in Binghamton, site of Rick DiPietro’s last AHL game, and Ricky’s an All-Star. Meanwhile, the highest pick to play for Bridgeport since DiPietro gets ready to hit the ice in two hours.

Speaking of long contracts, Alex Ovechkin gets 13 years, $124 million. That’s, what, about $123.6 million more than I could make over the next 13 years. I stand by what I said a while ago (shouting to the ether, because the blog was down): Such deals may be questionable but are not insane. It’s a lot of money, but hey, they have it.
