Aw, shoot

You’ll see what Jack Capuano had to say at least four times about today, which — heck, it’s the midpoint — I turned into kind of a “story of the first half” thing.

Got to love the fans chanting for a shot. There are times you can understand not shooting, but shots produce chaos, right? Chaos is good for the team on the power play, right?

Didn’t happen enough.

Lucky Bridgeport: No Tambellini for no reason. Greg Logan blogged a nice chat with him before he got sent back. Bridgeport had Luke Fulghum in the lineup on a PTO and Chris Busby on call in case someone else had to sit.

Okposo Watch: “He had a couple of good chances. We talked a bit about the power play — he got trapped down low,” Capuano said. “It’s the first time you saw his time and space taken away. … Overall, I thought his weekend was good.” Okposo took his first big hit, from Matt Carkner early. He said he was having fun out there.

In case you wondered what “pink rink night” would look like with, um, a pink rink: something like this. Make sure to read about it, too.

Isles draft pick Tomas Marcinko is the new captain in Barrie.

Patrick Williams passed along this Delaware County Times story: Could the Spectrum be going away? And my first-blush wonderment: Is this why Lowell’s still in Lowell?

Tired of going for the links on these shuttling guys, so: Conboy, Aucoin and Nolan go back to Albany.

And speaking of champions, while the Giants were putting away the Cowboys, so was the Stamford Police putting away the Branford FD 14-7 in the championship game of the Sound Tigers’ police and fire tournament. Here’s to the winners.
