At least they’re consistent

Bridgeport has played back-to-back nights 16 times this season, including 10 times as part of their five three-in-threes to date. They have swept two sets, been swept twice, and split 12 times. When those back-to-backs have been the only two games, they have split each of the six. (That’s the natural tendency for a .500 team, obviously, but it’s funny when it comes out exactly right.)

It’s 14 degrees up here, with the wind blowing a little bit. Always great to go into the rink to warm up.

Jamie Fraser had his fourth practice-shootout win of the season today, which leads the team, he said. I asked if he was going to demand his way into the shootout lineup. “I won’t be shooting in a game anytime soon,” he said. “Fifteenth.”

Nielsen and Colliton got a day of rest. Morrison was back from the big club.

Somewhat interesting run ended Saturday: Until the last goal, Ben Walter had a point on seven consecutive power-play goals, on 12 out of 13, and on 13 of 15. Could find only two longer such streaks (Boguniecki, 9, last year; Collins, 8, two years ago), but that’s a) a very cursory glance; b) quite unofficial (didn’t always get scoring changes); and c) not counting ’01-02, for which I don’t have PP scoring available.
