Bad ideas

No. Whatever on your list: Swinging your stick across the scorer’s table when the guy who will suspend you is sitting in the stands.

Jim Mill of the league was in the house to watch Stefan Ruzicka take a swing across a row of off-ice officials in a vain attempt to get at Matthew Spiller. Hmm.

We’ll see if Ruzicka is back here Saturday. He declined to comment.

Oh, by the way: Another good game. A quick Jeremy Colliton goal against a pretty good goalie in Brian Boucher. A 2-0 lead on a good play. A 3-0 lead on a good break. A 4-1 win on Andy Sertich’s empty-netter.

Maybe you’ll remember that. I’m thinking this is the Ruzicka Game for all time…

They’re back to points-.500 and five points behind Albany after the Wolf Pack beat the Rats 1-0 on an early Pavel Bourret* goal.

Zingoni moved up in the third period after Ruzicka got semi-tossed. Laliberte moved up to Zingoni’s old spot, it seemed.

Got all excited when I saw the white sweaters in warmup. Thought it would almost look like a hockey game. Instead, they came out with Set 2 of the oranges. Most obvious difference: blue names instead of white on the back.

Bryan Trottier in town and behind the bench. He greeted Kjell Samuelsson, ol’ Penguins teammate, afterward.

Reason No. Whatever that Frans Nielsen is a pretty heady player: Nine minutes to go in the first, Nielsen’s stick breaks. He calls Okposo to fill in for him down low and goes out to cover the left point. As Darroll Powe tries to come up to the top of the left circle, Nielsen carefully sticks his leg in to swipe the puck off his stick and clear it. Beautiful.
