Mac Attack

Joey MacDonald didn’t play in three games in a row last month. He sat behind Mike Morrison at Norfolk, then sat behind Wade Dubielewicz at Philly and Albany.

Since then, he has won three games. He has defeated Portland (29-16-2-3), Philadelphia (31-15-1-2) and now in a shootout Hartford (29-13-2-5). He has allowed one goal in each of those three games. He has made 98 out of 101 saves.

In three games against the Wolf Pack at the Civic Center, he has allowed four goals and made 100 saves out of 104. (He allowed five goals on 29 shots at Bridgeport against the Pack, but we’re doing something here.)

“He was vocal with the defensemen,” Capuano said. “They’ve got some skilled players, and to hold them to one, he was great.”

And they’re 7-0 in the shootout. Hey, if it counts, it counts…

Tambellini is no longer on a goal-a-game pace over his last 22 games. Trade him right … now.

Ryan Callahan got called up at 5 p.m. Jordan Owens was suspended for a late instigator Friday. Jessiman and Baranka both were injured and weren’t supposed to play… and they didn’t.

Interesting note seen from Michael Sharp: Elmira has a little rift with Albany.

Darren McCarty is joining Grand Rapids.

Here’s hopin’.

And finally, enjoy the big game tomorrow… And then enjoy the Super Bowl after Rangers-Canadiens. (The pick in the paper says one thing. The heart says something else.)
