Between-games chatter

No word on moves (though it sounds like some will come; nothing official yet). Only game in the ‘Merican League is Providence’s five-goal-third win over Worcester. An alleged 3,621 then surely rushed home to turn on their televisions.

Our buddy Phil Janack up in Schenectady has a new blog going. The Gazette‘s Web presence is now out from behind the pay wall.

There’s a Jeff Hamilton mention in Kevin Paul Dupont’s notebook today, but what caught my eye was a story about Benazir Bhutto… sportswriter.

There’s a Steve Valiquette reference in Larry Brooks’ column today, but it’s not news to us up here.

Big, huge buck standing in the northbound Wilbur Cross Parkway last night in Wallingford. Just standing there. Glad no one was coming. Meanwhile, it is still quite eerie passing the 29.7-mile mark on I-84 east.

And then heard “Takin’ Care of Business” on the way home Friday. Those of a certain persuasion will understand: It was the first time I heard it since Sept. 30 without feeling the angst. It will probably take a while longer to erase that feeling from “Sweet Child o’ Mine.”
