Violence, violence…

Needing a quote and wondering if I had anything resembling thought-process remaining, I asked Drew Fata if he thought something like that third period might bring these young and outgunned Sound Tigers together. He talked about new guys coming in, wanting to get involved, to be in the playoff push.

And then he said something pretty darn pithy, which is the lead quote in the gamer tomorrow.

This team wakes up 10 points behind WBS (Jonathan asked Todd Richards about that day a couple of weeks ago in Lowell, when Bridgeport was briefly in fourth place and ahead of the Penguins), five points behind Hershey, and now one point behind Binghamton.

It’s tough. There are two pretty darn good forward lines up on Long Island now (and since Greg Logan is not one to throw things at the wall, Okposomania sure sounds likely). Andy Sertich had been coming on and playing a solid game at the point, but he’s out indefinitely with the concussion that sparked the whole line brawl in the third. What do you do? They thought the first goal should have been icing, they thought there was a high stick on the second, and then when you’re under the gun to begin with…

Time is running out, and unfortunately for the Sound Tigers, there’s just nothing that can really be done except keep working.

You can kind of see these games coming from Little Mac, can’t you? He’s not chasing DiPietro anymore; he’s chasing Emery.

Pointstreak troubles early tonight. Dunno if this’ll stick around or even link right, but the in-game version I had up? It says this one was between the Canadian and PlanetUSA all-stars. Not quite. It also says MacDonald has played 1400 minutes without making a save on three shots. Curry has played but 680 minutes, which makes Bridgeport’s zero goals even more embarrassing.

JB referred the other day to Ben Lovejoy’s blog, which is indeed a good read.

Masi Marjamaki is evidently going to Ilves Tampere next year. (Not that I could read. Eurohockey gave the tip.)

Philly picked up a couple of college players.
