The minor fall, and the major lift

(From the hotel, whose name appears to be Spanish for “fifth-rate internet service”…)

A pretty good mood for the team today, it seemed. Ready to go. They skated pretty hard, as promised, then came off in good spirits. Plus a little of Jeff Buckley’s version of “Hallelujah” pumping out of the room afterward, which is always welcome. Andy Sertich said he’s feeling pretty good and is hoping to skate in the morning. Drew Fata was still struggling with his skates; he was hurting. And I somehow lost Dustin Kohn out there and asked where he was. Well done. I can’t count, apparently. Anyway.

Rick DiPietro had his surgery last night.

Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow. (I’m OK with no-touch icing if there’s a provision to wave it off if it’s clear the offending team’s player will get there first, and if the current rule remains about waving it off on passes gone awry. Thoughts?)

Boston and Providence re-upped through 2016. It may be the most logical non-co-owned pairing this side of Rochester and Buffalo. (Oops.)
