Apropos of nothing

I take it back. It wouldn’t be so appropriate if they blew a 4-0 lead on the day they were eliminated (although they had the chance today).

It’d be more appropriate if Philadelphia blows a third-period lead again tomorrow. That’d sting more, wouldn’t it? To see another team, two nights in a row, have a lead, make it look like they’re going to give you the help you need… then give it away, the way the Sound Tigers did so many times early in the season, and last month.

There’s no other path to the playoffs now except two wins against Hartford and four points’ worth of help from Binghamton and Philly. That was ensured tonight at the Spectrum.

On the bright side, they have lasted at least one game longer than they lasted last year. On the other hand, hope ended at Hartford last season

The lines were scrambled in the third because Capuano didn’t like the way things were going in the offensive zone.

Binghamton was already eliminated by Hershey’s win by the time Norfolk finished the Sens off. Wilkes-Barre beat Albany to take a three-point lead on Philly, but the Phantoms have two games left to the Penguins’ one. (As seen on Phil’s blog, Jeff Hamilton may need surgery.)

Doesn’t look like the Pack are exactly resting the big guns.

Visitor after the game to the room: Eric Boguniecki. Said his hip’s feeling good; surgery cost him most of the season this year in Germany.

Tambellini and Pelletier are tied with 37 goals.
