Mark Parrish dumb fact of the moment

Parrish played three games for the Beast of New Haven. April 11, 1998, at Albany, which was also Shane Willis’ first pro game; Willis assisted on an Oleg Kvasha goal, and Parrish scored on — get this — a rebound*. Then two games in January 1999.

That’s not the dumb fact. The dumb fact is that none of those three games were at the dearly departed barn on Orange Street. Albany for the first; Portland and Hartford for the next two.

So he has never played for an AHL team from outside Connecticut… but he’s never played a home game there, either.

Parrish said he’ll arrive Sunday and hopes to practice Monday.

*In the third period, final goal of a 5-4 loss: 9. New Haven, Parrish 1 (Ritchie, O’Grady), 11:13.
