Point Given*

So that’s two Fridays in a row where they’ve coughed up a 2-0 lead. This one didn’t come with a bonus point. Didn’t even come with a point.

There were turnovers, spread through the lineup. There were stretches where lines got pinned deep for way too long, forcing icings (that’s how the fourth line was still out there for the tying goal, though that was as much a broken play off a blocked shot as anything). I’ve got it in the gamer: The TV timeout in the third period, set for the first qualified stoppage after 10 minutes, didn’t come until 15:31. The third line got stuck out there. The second line got stuck out there. The top pair overlapped that a bit.

As Capuano mentioned, when they got it deep, they were pretty good. Actually, for the first little while, they were pretty good at getting it deep, too.

That changed. The momentum changed.

While chasing Tim Jackman in the dressing room, he was saying how they have to put it behind them right away. It will, indeed, be interesting to see what tomorrow night looks like.

A big Game 8? Aw, let’s overreact and say yes.

I’m hearing things about the new audio and video. Please share experiences, positive and negative. E-mail is fine.

It’s Word of Life night. I feel unholy. And deafened.

Fastest two-goal lead for Bridgeport ever in this building. It’s usually the opposite.

Greg Cronin and his mighty Northeastern Huskies were playing a couple of hours up the block in Orono. They won.

Kimber told an interesting story: Mark Parrish is going to wear No. 13 for the Sound Tigers. It’s his wife’s lucky number. Among some of his other numbers, 3 was his brother’s lucky number, 7 was his dad’s, and 21 was his. So he’s going with his wife’s. Probably the more pressing part of this story: He’s now scheduled to arrive Monday.

Portland’s unis have kind of a Buffalo-pre-slug-but-post-real-uniform vibe: Black on the shoulders with red and gray.

Interesting stuff from Roger Ebert on how being unable to speak has changed the way he communicates.
