Soundin’ Off Book Club: Conquering Gotham, by Jill Jonnes. It’s the story of the construction of Penn Station 100 years ago, including the tunnels that connected it to Long Island and New Jersey. Great read, populated with all kinds (Mary Cassatt? Teddy Roosevelt? Stanford White?) of characters. Good stuff.
