There's no basement at the Alamo*: San Antonio attempted liveblog

*-But there is in the West Division

Here’s your audio link to the Alamo City. The hosts on the show beforehand were referring to ESPN as “The four-letter network.” Like that. Meanwhile, I think the station’s voiceover guy is the same guy as in Houston. I’m hoping there’s a country-club ad here, too. “GREEEEENS fees.”

Brett Skinner is coming back (here), as Brendan Witt’s coming back (to the lineup). Kyle Okposo’s out, though. The big club doesn’t play until Friday.

Stats. They’re wearing orange again. Kohn, Marcinko, Haley in; Bentivoglio, Fritz, Hillen out. Lawson’s in goal.

-First power play, eight minutes and change in, to the Sound Tigers. It’s been riveting to this point.

-Haley fights Steven Goertzen after Goertzen nails Andrew MacDonald. And now Adam Keefe hits Tyler Haskins. What, did all the ex-Wolf Packers put some money on the board?

-That’s it for one, no score.

-Lawson, keeping up with Mannino, takes an interference minor against Simon Ferguson, and the Rampage score to take a 1-0 lead.

-Derek Nesbitt gets the goal. Ol’ buddy Pavel Bourret gets the second assist. And Bridgeport goes right back on the power play…. and now Kurtis McLean’s fighting Ferguson. From the call, sounds like that was a mistake for McLean.

-Unless I missed one, that’s McLean’s fifth fight in the AHL. Curtis Glencross, Dane Byers, Jakub Klepis and Dan Smith. At least one and as many as three in the ECHL.

-Scrap 3 pits Pitton against Adam Keefe. Maybe these guys should play each other more often.

-Chris Lee plays with a broken stick — third time that has happened for the Sound Tigers — to put Bridgeport down, but Jeremy Colliton draws a Jeff Hoggan tripping penalty going to the net, and that’s it for two. If it was 2-0, I’d say “Bridgeport has ’em right where they want ’em,” but it’s 1-0, so sweat it out.

-Ben Walter scores off some good pressure, and it’s tied two minutes in.

-Have I said lately how I feel about the puck-over-glass delay-of-game penalty? No? Oh well. Lannon gets one at 9:22 of the third.

-Trevor Smith gets the go-ahead goal here with 2:15 to go — Wireless cut out at a bad time, but apparently Ryan Lannon fell on a clear attempt. Time trickles away.

-Iggulden adds the empty-net goal, and yeah, Bridgeport had ’em right where they wanted ’em. Bridgeport 3, San Antonio 1. Maybe more later.
