What’s so ‘clear’ about this?

Have so far gotten a lot of “I can’t talk about Clear Day” from people who usually talk on Clear Day. But then Milwaukee ships its list in a press release. Fascinating. What was confirmed: No AHL trades for Bridgeport, and none of the pro-tryout players were converted to full AHL contracts so they could be placed on the list. What you see is what you get. In what combinations? Who fills those last one or two forward spots? We may have to wait.

The Islanders have officially assigned Robin Figren to Bridgeport. Figren got another bag skate this morning at the optional. Coincidentally, assistant coach Matt Bertani is probably in game shape by now.

No word on any call-ups.

Most notable off the transactions so far: Karl Goehring went to San Antonio from Manitoba. Kimber Auerbach’s Elmira teammate Jarrett Konkle earned a job in Binghamton, and Neil Petruic got bumped up to an SPC, too. James Sixsmith was released in Milwaukee. We were just hearing about Kevin Cormier last night; he went from Trenton to Lowell today.

Erik, after poking around a bit, no indication that Shea Guthrie’s coming here. The next draft pick on the incoming radar is probably Travis Hamonic. And then start rooting against Sarnia.

Utah picked up a few players, including Len DiCostanzo.

Tris Wykes had a bunch of interesting things yesterday, including the fact that Brent Henley, who was here in camp in ’06, battles both Addison’s disease and diabetes. Tris also linked to a story about the retirement of the University of Minnesota’s equipment manager, Harry Broadfoot; tip of cap to him, and once again, thanks.
