Lots o’ shots

Rick Cohen made the point, and if I haven’t missed anything, the past two games produced the second-highest combined saves total (88) for back-to-back Sound Tigers games. The only higher, perhaps not surprisingly, were Feb. 9-10, 2007, when Wade Dubielewicz stopped a team-record 52 shots against Hershey and then followed it with 38 the next night against Lowell.

Didn’t dig hard enough to get a record for most saves in three consecutive games, but they have had three consecutive 40-save games before, twice in fact: Feb. 13-16, 2008 (Morrison 41, MacDonald 46, Morrison 40), and Feb. 19-24, 2006 (Dubielewicz 42, 40, then Rudkowsky 40 — the middle game was Feb. 22, when Sean Bergenheim scored four goals).

Anyway. Last time these teams met, it was Bridgeport tossing 40 on Jonathan Bernier, who stopped ’em all. Haskins returns for the first time since the day after that game.
