Chat Wednesday 1:30

Team is practicing in the morning, so we’ll see which of the walking wounded give it a go.

Edit: In addition to what’s in the chat — and nothing official yet on call-ups — Al Montoya signed a one-year (and per Katie Strang, one-way) extension, making much of the last quarter of the chat obsolete. Sorry.)

Sound Tigers Hockey Live Chat with Michael Fornabaio

In advance, a bonus note that jumped out while putting Wednesday’s capsule together. Wednesday is the 10th and final game in the Portland-Bridgeport series. First-place Portland has 94 points going into Tuesday’s Providence game. Bridgeport is in last place overall. If you told a random observer that there was only a single one-goal game in that season series through nine games, he might not be surprised. But here’s the thing: Portland does lead the season series, but just 5-4. Bridgeport has wins of 4-1, 3-0, 3-1 (at home) and 5-1 (on the road Friday). Portland has won 3-1, 2-1, 5-3, 6-3 and 8-3.

(You may remember that, in what probably rated as the worst season in team history before this, 2004-05, Bridgeport beat only two teams in season series… division winners Binghamton and Manchester.)

See you in the afternoon.
