It keeps turning

The roster keeps turning over. Kael Mouillierat at last arrived, and they finished up the skate with 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies. (Brett Gallant and Anton Klementyev were the extras.) Ah, but then the Islanders announced that Kevin Poulin and Calvin de Haan were on their way back down. Andrew MacDonald and Mark Eaton are making the trip with the big club, Arthur Staple reported, and Nino Niederreiter appears ready to go. (Officially, the Islanders said that their emergency conditions on defense remain in effect, if they need to call someone back up tomorrow.)

Poulin and de Haan won’t dress tonight, though they’ll be on the bus tonight to Hershey. Anders Nilsson starts for Bridgeport. He’ll have six PTOs in front of him and one backing him up.

Referee Matt Kirk of Manitoba, former WHL ref, works his first Sound Tigers game. Most impressive thing on the Google search: a substantial amount of positivity about his work (especially compared to the usual). Now I’m looking forward to him. Two refs tonight and, from the preliminary assignments, in the other two games this weekend, too.

Haley wears an ‘A’ for the first time this year. The Whale have one to scratch. Edit: It’s Connolly. I’m not sure about the Hartford fourth line; was interrupted and saw a couple of different things there, not all of which jibed with each other. May try to fix it if it needs fixing.
