Springing back

The team says they’re expecting a full recovery from Kirill Kabanov; it announced this morning he had surgery on the cut to his left wrist in Worcester. His recovery timetable is TBA, after he’s evaluated. (The team said that’ll happen Monday. Hopefully we’re a functioning society Monday. #sandy)

Kabanov (whose parents were at the game yesterday) tweeted a couple of things.

Kabanov and Brett Gallant come out, and Sean Backman and Jason Clark make their season debuts, a pro debut for the latter. (And yep, he becomes the first to wear 72). Backman appears to slide in with Ullstrom and Sundstrom, breaking up the Tre Kronor line, and John Persson moves into Kabanov’s spot. Marc Cantin also plays for the first time with Nathan McIver out; Bridgeport signed Jordan Hill, who played 58 games for Scott Pellerin’s Manchester team over the past two years, to a PTO to make seven defensemen. Hill dressed in No. 25 for warmup but looks to be the scratch.

Springfield again has the warmup jerseys, with no numbers on the sleeves and no letters. Reasonably confident those were how they rushed, though, without Sean Collins.
