Seeing no red (or white)

Edit: The team should announce shortly that they’ve signed Jordan Hill to an AHL contract for the rest of the year, replacing his tryout.

Mostly thawed out from last night’s high school game. That was pretty wild. At the start, with wet snow falling through not-all-that-cold air under powerful lights, it looked as if they were playing in a snowglobe. Survived, though. (So far.)

Returned to AHY WBA Wednesday morning to find only one tweak to the lines, Casey Cizikas moved up to Jason Clark’s spot from the weekend lineup. Ty Wishart was back to full contact as well. Max MacKay left early with what’s been described as a minor lower-body issue.

This was the effective end of what Scott Pellerin had called a three-day camp on Monday. “I’ve been very happy,” Pellerin said. “We kind of went through our structure, our systems. We had some really good, competitive drills. We were able to get some off-ice work done.” Video work, meetings, a bunch of different things were going on this week. “I thought the last three days, I got what I wanted,” Pellerin said. They’ll practice tomorrow and head to Hershey.

Simsbury’s Tommy Cross is back in the AHL. The link to Albany’s site seems to be down, but the Devils announced that Adam Henrique will miss 4-6 weeks after thumb surgery.

“Justified” and “Archer” are closer to returning. Right on.

And finally, I bought my gajillion-minus-1-in-a-gajillion chance of losing $2 on the way home. If the 1-in-a-gajillion comes through, though, I’ll still go to work in the morning. (Friday’s questionable.)
