So after the first off-day with NHL hockey to watch (was stuck with the Tampa Bay feed yesterday afternoon — missing channels on your free preview? It’s Comcastic! — but it was a good broadcast; Rick Peckham’s always nice to hear, and apparently Ullstrom-Aucoin-McDonald would be fun at any level), the Sound Tigers got back to work at Wonderland without Johan Sundstrom. “Upper-body.” “Day-to-day.” Max MacKay remained out ill, but Kirill Kabanov ditched the red no-contact jersey for a yellow one with Chad Costello and Jack Combs. (Story tomorrow.)
Matt Watkins practiced without contact, in red again. So that’s nine healthy defensemen and 12 healthy forwards.
Edit: Katie Strang reports this afternoon that she’s told Nino Niederreiter wants out.
The DCU Center is getting a big renovation. With that, the Sharks are sticking around Worcester for three more years.
Daniel Maggio is ready for the ECHL all-star game.
Someone won a car last night at the Fairfield basketball game, until he was told he didn’t because his foot was on the midcourt line when he made a shot. I can’t tell from the video, but I’m not sure there is a line there. Fun for lawyers, probably.
Also the first off-day post-”Fringe.” Reasonably satisfying finale, if it took some leaps of faith. The emotional moments always worked with that cast. If you’re lamenting as I am, this four-part series of interviews was worth a read.
