The Sound Tigers are already on the bus in that direction, though they’re reportedly going without Johan Sundstrom or Max MacKay. Matt Watkins has been day-to-day throughout the week. They planned a practice once they got down there. We’re stuck up here in the tundra, so we’ll liveblog off the radio tomorrow and Saturday.

Fun in Albany: Scott Howes gets his first AHL goal of the season, and Ryan Russell is awarded a penalty shot for the second game in a row. Tweeted this one last night, which I kind of caught accidentally last week and had ready to go Sunday just in case: Scott Howes scored 11 goals last year without a game-winning goal*. That’s the most career goals by a Sound Tiger without a GWG**. Howes’ first goal for Springfield? Game-winner.
Dumb off-day trivia: I’ve got six Sound Tigers — actually, darn, for the moment, there are eight — whose only Bridgeport goal was a game-winner. Eclectic group. Some all-timers in there, even. Answer tomorrow.
A goal for Micheal Haley. And then the Whale blew a 5-1 lead, but they won in overtime. And then today they made their second trade in a week (well, the Rangers did, but), getting Benn Ferriero from the Penguins for Chad Kolarik.
*-Game-winners, of course, depend on other things. Howes had one goal that gave them a 2-1 lead on Providence; they led 3-1 and went on to win 6-3. He scored the first goal in three games, though coincidentally Bridgeport only won two of them. He scored the last-minute tying goal a year ago Monday in Syracuse in the game they won in a shootout right before the all-star break. Fun with statistical coincidence.
**-Single-season: Eric Manlow, 19, 2002-03. Manlow had 27 career goals as a Sound Tiger with only one GWG, for what it’s worth.
