Post-Bowl returns

The team got Super Bowl Sunday off and didn’t skate again Monday, so back to work Tuesday. And after two days off, they worked hard. Good, hard skate. Lineup looked similar to the past few games.

They were today without Nathan McIver, who got an extra day for a lower-body injury, but Scott Pellerin said he expects McIver to be ready for the weekend. Johan Sundstrom was off the ice; they want to give him a few days and see how he responds.

The Sound Tigers’ auction for Sandy Hook continues.

Kenny Reiter was named ECHL Goalie of the Month for January. Speaking of Fort Wayne, Daniel Maggio got a PTO with Lake Erie. And speaking of Lake Erie, Hershey’s in Cleveland tonight.

A very neat Travis Hamonic story.

If you saw Jordan Caron take that puck to the head here Thursday night, cheekbone/eye injury, Mark Divver reports; out until at least next week.

The Rangers made a deal that brings Nick Palmieri, former Albany and recent Houston right winger, to the Whale. They shuffled bodies, too, sending Benn Ferriero down and calling up J.T. Miller; they’d called Brandon Mashinter, too, but Katie Strang says they sent him back after the skate.

Another Animaniacs piece from Mental Floss. And of course you wanna watch those clips.

They’ve found the body of Richard III. Or have they?

And RIP, Lavonne Paire-Davis, Andre Cassagnes and Reg Presley. (Yeah, I know, “Wild Thing.” The catalog’s deeper.
