Looking ahead/Campbell inked

Yep.

Nothing odd-looking at Bridgeport’s practice Thursday (except for a crew on the roof of the Wonderland of Ice, shoveling off snow and ice). Scott Pellerin said he’d make decisions on the fourth line and the defense tomorrow. “With three games this weekend, we’re going to need everybody,” Pellerin said.

The players gave a stick-tap at the end of practice to Scott Campbell on his AHL contract. He said he understood there’d been talk about getting that done, but he hadn’t paid a lot of attention. “I’m kind of a day-to-day guy — and will remain … so,” he said. But it was a nice feeling, and nice to get the confirmation that he can fit in at this level. “He’s come in here and really kind of worked his way into the lineup,” Pellerin said. “He’s keeping his game simple and brought hard work every day. He’s very coachable. He plays hockey the right way on both sides of the puck. He’s very versatile. He’s been a great addition to our club and a great addition to our locker room.”

Much Micheal Haley herein on his line with Christian Thomas and Kelsey Tessier. The Whale have Steve Eminger on conditioning; his two weeks just in time for Bridgeport to miss him.

Interesting goalie swap: Dustin Tokarski for Cedric Desjardins. (Interesting reasoning, too.)

The ECHL and its players have a new five-year CBA.

We’re apparently close to the 45th anniversary of the first animation commissioned for Sesame Street. I’m not going to say I could recite this thing word-for-word. (I’d completely forgotten the Voice-of-God framing, for one thing.) But to change the subject, the moral is one to live by.

And good luck to Manny Malhotra.
