JC back to Sweden/half a final set

Jeremy Colliton signed to play with Mora in Sweden next year. ObFWB: “He is working hard in every byte, is dangerous forwards but also backwards.” (The story seems to have been broken by one @MrMadhawk on Twitter with a delightfully vulgar tweet that I probably shouldn’t link you to directly, even though it’s vulgar in a foreign language and I probably could… ah, you’ll find it if you want it.)

The Penguins made a few lineup changes hoping at least to force a Game 6 against Syracuse. Nope. 7-0, Syracuse wins it, going to the Calder Cup Final for the first time. (A bunch of those Crunchers, obviously, were there last year and are on a remarkable year-and-a-half run.) Philippe Paradis had a hat trick, and defensemen Mark Barberio and rookie Andrej Sustr (plus-4) had three assists apiece.

There will be a Game 6 on Tuesday in the West: Grand Rapids beat OKC 4-0 to tie up that series with Game 5, tornado-postponed, on Sunday. Petr Mrazek made 40 saves; Gustav Nyquist and Joakim Andersson each got on the scoresheet in their return from Detroit.

Eric Wellwood, last seen hustled off the ice here, is recuperating, Michael Cignoli writes, compiling a video interview off the Flyers’ website.

And RIP, Jean Stapleton.
