Day 2: Money flows

Will we be in for another one of these? (Tough to tell. Things seem pretty quiet right now. Of course that can change quickly.)

CapGeek reports Trevor Smith got a one-way from Toronto. Nice. Most of the other AHL-vet-type two-ways that he has so far have come in well over $100,000, which, as we have seen, sits well above the Islanders’ financial tastes. Jesse Joensuu gets $900,000 and $1,000,000.

Notes from around: Last night forgot to mention that, along with signing Bobby Robins, the Bruins added Mike Moore and Nick Johnson. Vancouver picked up Mike Santorelli. David Kolomatis signed with Washington, but the Bears lost Patrick McNeill to Columbus. The Jets added Jerome Samson and Andrew Gordon. Biggest names with AHL Western Conference potential: Montreal picked up Martin St. Pierre and Nick Tarnasky. CapGeek has Tim Sestito back to the Devils for two years at a nice raise.
