On the New Guy, etc.

Scott Pellerin and I took turns missing each other over the past few days, but a voicemail explains his feelings about Justin Johnson, whom he coached in Manchester for two seasons.

“Just excited about the signings,” he said. “Justin Johnson brings an element of leadership and a physical presence, but he’s a strong character in the locker room and on the ice. I’m really happy to have him a part of the team.” He’s excited about meeting the new guys he hadn’t met, and about getting things going — just a month to rookie camp, after all.

Manny Legace will be a goalies coach in Springfield. Kinda weird story about former Lowell Lock Monsters star graduate Chad LaRose.

And RIP, Dick Kazmaier, who has a legacy in hockey, too; and NFL and late-night legend Art Donovan.

Newest signings look pretty good. Justin Johnson should give them good size on RW. I think he’s in the 6’1 and 215lb. range. He’ll be tough to move out when he’s in the crease.

I wanted to read a bit more on the new guys, but I haven’t been able to get into the BST website. Is it me, or some technicality?
