Deal in Nassau…

So there are plenty of dots you can connect if you’d like now that Forest City Ratner et al won the Coliseum bid. That tries to put as many of them in a box as we have at the moment. A situation that’ll obviously bear watching, though some of the basic facts are the same as they’ve been for 12 years going on 13.

Bookkeeping: It’s after 5 p.m. on Aug. 15 of his graduation year, so the Cody Rosen era is over. (It’s the first change to the reserve list (down to 71) since the first day of free agency, July 5, when they signed Bouchard and Regin and re-upped Nabokov.)

Not that it’s unexpected, but glad to see Mike O’Brien get the call to succeed Tom Grace as Wilkes-Barre’s broadcaster.

And the Marvelous Magical Burger King won the Manchester third-jersey contest. Of course, he can do most anything.

What’s all this I read, that when the coliseum is renovated that the Sound Tigers will break their Webster lease and go there?

So here’s my take on this story for what it’s worth. After the 2013-2014 season the Islanders move to Brooklyn, the team now known as the Sound Tigers moves to Long Island, and another team (No, not the Rangers) which is having financial difficulty where it is moves to Bridgeport. I don’t really follow the AHL anymore since I no longer work as an off ice official, but my guess is of the 30 (?) teams there have to be at least a couple that can’t make ends meet where they now play and they will be looking for a new venue after the upcoming season.
