Meanwhile, Rich Elliott reported the UConn women will play in Bridgeport on Jan. 11 at noon. As it stands, the Sound Tigers are home that night at 7. (The Sound Tigers are in Springfield on Dec. 28, when the UConn men are coming.)

An MLB.com story on Gary, Keith and Ron and their Mets broadcasts. During recent years, when I’d sit there watching or listening to Mets games in dismal Augusts and Septembers, the biggest reasons for watching or listening were simple: Gary, Keith, Ron and Howie (and lately Josh).

And it’s Sept. 7, a new date that will live in infamy. It used to be our blog anniversary — eight years? gotta enroll the little guy in Little League — but two years ago it became the date of a horrible memory. They’re missed.
