Camp From Afar, Day R5/0

Rookie camp wrapped up Tuesday at the Coliseum with a scrimmage. No real surprises among those the Islanders sent back to junior. If I count correctly that leaves first-rounders Griffin Reinhart and Ryan Pulock and re-entry draftee Alan Quine as junior-eligible players still in camp. (Quine, I’m fairly certain, is the one who could also play in the AHL.)

The Big Club reports officially Wednesday and hits the ice in Brooklyn on Thursday (Hey, it’s still blue and orange!) before coming back to Nassau County. There are actual, albeit non-counting, games just a week away.

Today’s update on Portland’s lease drama from Chris Roy.

One of the last vestiges of the days when the Mets owned New York is coming to an end: Neil Best of Newsday broke that the Yankees are close to moving their radio ‘casts to WFAN (and WFAN-FM). My former colleague has a point.

And it’s Sept. 11. We remember. As if we could forget.
