First cuts ’13/Quine signs (updated)

Basically the only two people who survived that mini-Sound Tigers camp this week were two tryouts. Sean Wiles and Brayden Irwin remain on their PTOs; the rest of the cast is headed for California.

Assigned to Stockton were Mathieu Coderre-Gagnon, Ben Rosen, Nick Larson, Sean Escobedo and Parker Milner. Released from their tryouts and sent back there: Nathan Deck, Ryan Hayes, Shawn Morton-Boutin and Landon Oslanski.

Sent down today from the Big Club: Jason Clark, Andrey Pedan, Marc Cantin, as well as AHL-contract guys Greg Miller, Mike Dalhuisen, Dallas Jackson and Mike Keenan.

The Bridgeport roster, then, is four forwards, five defensemen and no goalies. That is, um, likely to change before next Saturday’s opener. If I count correctly, that leaves the Islanders’ camp roster at 44, including the injured Cal Clutterbuck: 26 forwards, 14 defensemen, four goalies. Presumably no coincidence: They’ve got two games tomorrow so need 36 skaters and four goalies. Edit: The Islanders just announced Clutterbuck’s on injured reserve.

Edit2, 6:30: The Islanders also announced they’ve signed Ryan Pulock to his entry-level contract. Edit3, 7: Arthur Staple first reports that they’ve also signed Alan Quine to his ELC. Unlike Pulock (or Griffin Reinhart for that matter), Quine is eligible to be assigned to Bridgeport.

Meanwhile, appears Nathan McIver survived one round of Hamilton cuts, though Chad Wiseman did not.
