Gallant out

Brett Gallant is out with a lower-body injury, Scott Pellerin confirmed today. He had missed a day of practice last week, then missed Sunday’s game after playing in the opener Saturday and hasn’t been in practice since. Pellerin said they’ll reevaluate Gallant next week and hope to have a timetable available then.

Andrey Pedan will be back with the main group tomorrow, Pellerin said. Otherwise, the same group as it has been for the past couple of days. Still to be determined if they’ll bring in someone as a 13th forward for the weekend.

Meanwhile Eric Hartzell is hurt in Wilkes-Barre, so Peter Mannino could be on his way back from Wheeling, Jonathan Bombulie reports.

High school hockey schedules are out (two months to go). Looks like one game at Webster Bank Arena: Fairfield Prep vs. Notre Dame-Fairfield (an ND home game), Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.

Edit: The AHL Hall of Fame has four new members.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame nominations include at least one person who has been to a Sound Tigers game.

And RIP, Andy Pafko.
