Nelson sent down

After their 4-3 loss tonight, the Islanders sent Brock Nelson down. That’ll certainly tweak those lines — maybe a Lee/Strome reunion? — and power-play units and probably penalty-kill units. Arthur reports they’ll decide about a call-up after that, but obviously this is the only game here for another week. (There’s also the issue of Lubomir Visnovsky, knocked out of tonight’s game with a team-announced concussion.)

….

Binghamton will get on the bus after a 4-1 loss to Syracuse tonight. Nathan Lawson made 28 saves.

Edit: What an opener in Stockton. It begins with Kirill Kabanov scoring off an errant clear. Good enough. Then Mike Dalhuisen gets his first point in his pro debut on Brayden Irwin’s goal, playing the point alongside Mike Keenan. Then Kabanov gets into a fight. Yeah. Then Keenan scores his first pro goal on a power play. Then Dalhuisen gets into a fight. Then Dalhuisen scores his first pro goal off Kabanov’s and Keenan’s assists. So if you’ve been keeping track… Dalhuisen and Kabanov pick up the Gordie Howe Hat Tricks, and two points for Keenan in a 5-0 win over Colorado.

So just your routine Saturday evening in the Islanders organization.

Corrected the Islanders’ score. Had the Binghamton score on my mind.
