Closer, further: Tuesday practice

While Brett Gallant got a little closer to returning, taking about half of today’s practice in a red no-contact jersey, Joe Finley left early. “It’s a minor thing that he’s not 100 percent,” Scott Pellerin said. “It was hurting him while he was on the ice, so we thought he’d take it easy.” He’ll see a doctor. We’ll see what comes tomorrow. Chris Bruton skated separately beforehand, but “he’s still a ways away,” Pellerin said.

Kind of a war of attrition today. A couple of players clipped up high, as was Eric Boguniecki. With another long week of practice between games, they did some different things, battle drills, working in corners.

Rhett Rakhshani, Dylan Reese, Peter MacArthur (thanks, Whiskey Pete) and Darien’s Ryan Shannon are among those named to the United States team at the Deutschland Cup

Stamford’s Ryan Haggerty is the ECAC Player of the Week. (The Engineers are up to 12th.)

Morons.

And RIP, Don James and Bud Adams.

Copying error on my part led to an unfortunate transition earlier. Fixed now.
