There’s progress on a couple of Bridgeport’s injured forwards. Chris Bruton has been skating with the team the past few days, getting his conditioning in for sure, getting closer. And John Persson joined them for the first half of practice today at Wonderland, feeling good and looking good out there.
When Persson left as the team changed sheets of ice, Ryan Strome went with him. “He’s a little sore,” Scott Pellerin said. “He did the skating part (of practice) to keep up his conditioning level. When we got to five-on-five, competitive drills, we thought it was the smart thing to do, not to get (banged around).”
As they continue to take Marc Cantin day by day, he only skated a bit. (He got plenty in yesterday.) Jon Sim and Calvin de Haan returned to practice; Sean Wiles was seeing the doctor today after being banged up yesterday.
Nothing new on Mike Dalhuisen and Andrey Pedan.
Eric Cairns was with them for a second day in a row, joined today by Bernie Cassell and Steve Valiquette. Quite the student-teacher ratio.
