Comebacks, morning style

A little 11-on-11 game-situations scrimmage this morning, complete with power plays, four-on-fours, extra-attacker situations at the end to let the orange team try to catch up. They had a shootout — game-ready, complete with Scott Pellerin chasing players back to the bench during attempts — with each goal counting. That did let orange catch up. The winning shooter, in extras? Bernie Cassell, of course.

Pellerin said Joey Diamond was under the weather and didn’t practice. John Persson was back again; hopefully that sticks this time. Brett Gallant skated this morning and could be a game-time decision on Friday. Sean Wiles skated with them until those game situations began, but that was planned, Pellerin said.

(They’re taking tomorrow off for the holiday. And sorry, should’ve mentioned my own personal day yesterday. A little free advice: Never move. Yes, I think I said that the last time.)

A little under two months to Yankee Stadium, so let the branding begin… Ehh. OK.

If you missed it the other day, 10 former NHLers sued the league over concussions. One to follow.

And RIP, Jerry Seeman.
