Nine defensemen: Party like it’s October

Almost a flashback this morning at Harbor Yard: Bridgeport had nine defensemen out there for practice before they headed up to Glens Falls for tomorrow night’s game.

The nine included the seven who dressed for warmup Sunday plus Sean Escobedo, out the past weekend after taking a hit in practice during the week, and Mike Dalhuisen, on for the first time since he hit his head on the ice Nov. 15 at Springfield. Scott Pellerin said they’re cleared for contact but not yet to play; they’re on the trip, though, so they’ll see how those two progress the next few days.

Brett Gallant practiced at what looked to be something close to full strength. Lines were as they were Sunday, with Gallant joining the Wetmore line and Sim joining the Sundstrom line.

John Persson, Andrey Pedan and Joey Diamond remain on the shelf.

Yann Danis was hurt Friday. Cal Heeter played the rest of that night and Saturday. Hadn’t seen an update yet today.

Mitch Beck says Micheal Haley is out indefinitely after sports hernia surgery.

And a front-office prescout, sorta: Business-side shocker as Peter Luukko leaves Comcast.
