Friday night notes: ice is slippery

The Sound Tigers are supposed to return to practice Friday afternoon. We’ll see how weather affects all of that. Went out this afternoon to get rid of the first half of this mess. Can’t wait to do the second half.

Albany has signed veteran Johan Hedberg to a PTO; spelling the injured Keith Kinkaid. (Seriously almost called him Anders Hedberg. Different position and more veteran.) Pete says Hedberg could play Saturday, with Scott Wedgewood likely for the other two games this weekend, tomorrow against Hershey in Atlantic City and Sunday up here. Darcy Zajac has also resumed skating, the team reported today.

Corey Trivino was let go from his PTO in Portland. Linus Omark didn’t report to Rochester.

Missed this Puck Daddy post a while ago, but caught a snippet of the video on the rerun of the Russia-Slovenia game this afternoon. Almost 18 years ago at the World Cup for USA-Russia, sat with my brother in the greens at the Garden next to a couple of kids from Brighton Beach chanting that all night long. Don’t think I’d heard it again. Neat memories.

And RIP, Doug Jarrett, 13-year NHLer and onetime New Haven Nighthawk (h/t: Bob McKenzie on Twitter), and Ralph Waite.
