Dalhuisen for Adam Brace

The Sound Tigers traded Quinnipiac’s Mike Dalhuisen to San Antonio for rookie right winger Adam Brace, 25. Two guys who’ve been in the ECHL for a couple of months and apparently remain there: Brace goes to Stockton (ECHL); Dan Weiss says Dalhuisen to Cincinnati.

Dalhuisen played only four games here, between the numbers game and injury. For Brace, this is his third AHL team this year; he signed with Charlotte, then was traded for Philippe Cornet in November. A Robert Morris product (after transferring from Canisius after his freshman year, sitting out the year required), he had a nice spring with Florida (ECHL) last year, had six points in 10 games for the Checkers to start this year, then 21 points in 31 games for Cincy after the trade.

Meanwhile, it appears Jake Newton could become the first Bridgeport defenseman to wear the traditional defenseman’s number of 17.

Practice is on. More this afternoon.
