Pereira debuts: Worcester pregame

Edit: The Islanders announced they’ve got contract terms with Adam Pelech. He plays on with Erie, and could play for a while. But he’s under contract.

It’s ATO season everywhere, and West Haven’s Mike Pereira is going to make his pro debut tonight for the Worcester Sharks. He just finished his senior year at UMass, and he arrived in time to see his former high school, Notre Dame-West Haven, file out after beating New Canaan 2-0 here in the state quarterfinals.

(You may remember his brother Joe, who played one game for Worcester, then came here. Joe’s now an assistant coach at UConn, with Mike Souza.)

Kevin Poulin gets the start for Bridgeport; still on baby watch as far as we know. One to scratch; first glance was Diamond, and if so, same skaters as last night in slightly different arrangement.
