If no one comes back down and Alan Quine (6-16-24) doesn’t go all Mark Arcobello in the last 15 games, Ryan Strome will lead the Sound Tigers in scoring. (Part of that is that pretty much everyone else in hailing distance left with him, but anyway.) Strome left with 13-36-49. By the goals tiebreaker, that will be the lowest leading scoring total in Bridgeport’s 13-season history. Rhett Rakhshani was 20-29-49 in 49 games in 2011-12.
We chuckled two years ago about how a player could do that in under 50 games. Strome will do it in 37.

Last night was the seventh time this team has been shut out. That’s now tops in the livepuck era (six in 2010-11) and tied for second all-time (10 in 2004-05, seven in 2003-04).
This is the fifth time the team has been shut out back-to-back nights, and it’s tied for the worst combined score in those five. March 29-30, 2003: 3-0 at Manchester and, yep, 8-0 at Hartford, the worst defeat in team history for many years, the night half the team got benched and Eric Godard separated Mike Wilson from his senses.
Of course, Bridgeport didn’t lose again after that until the second round of the playoffs. Don’t suspect that’ll happen this year, but I guess any crazy thing is possible.

After sitting out after his penalties last night, Brett Gallant sits out today. Dimitry Antipin makes his pro debut, and Joey Diamond draws back in for Matthew Pistilli. Justin Johnson gets the third ‘A’ with Gallant out. One to scratch on defense.
