Hockey in New Haven: Wednesday notes

While Yale and Fairfield’s staffs take over Webster Bank Arena this weekend, the Sound Tigers borrow Yale’s barn. Bridgeport will practice at Ingalls Rink the next three days. (We’ll probably miss out, over with the Fairfield and Yale folks.) No apparent changes to the roster today. Slackers.

Tonight Roy Sommer coached his 1,257th AHL game, passing the legendary Frank Mathers for first all-time. Some kind of longevity.

Our buddy Chip Malafronte at that other paper on Quinnipiac’s Jones boys’ family tie to New Haven.

Sad to see Mike Santos, a former New Haven Nighthawks guy, out in Florida.

RIP, Ralph Wilson, and our buddy Chris’ mom, Patricia Elsberry.
