Brett Gallant’s an NHLer. Fresh off yesterday’s record-setter, Gallant got the call from the Isles today. After 141 AHL games, the last 140 of them here, he could make his NHL debut tomorrow.
Got to be one of the neater call-ups for this team, a guy who came up that first time, we figured, as much to try to give Tim Wallace his. He’s turned into one of the more respected heavies around, built up his game and become a team leader.
The Islanders sent Johan Sundstrom back, so Gallant is technically an emergency recall. Bridgeport also sent Ben Rosen back to Stockton. Got his first AHL point in five games here.
