Where are they now: Springfield pregame

|

As the Big Club wraps things up today:

Opening-day Sound Tigers, where they are now:
NYI: 10
BST: 7
STK: 4
Traded: 3
Sweden: 1

Players on NHL contracts on each roster now::
NYI: 30
BST: 8
STK: 3
(Junior: 2/Sweden: 2)

Players on NYI/BST full-season NHL/AHL contracts:
BST: 10
STK: 11

So here we are, what would’ve been the home finale but for that foamy mess last night.

The paint under the ice still bears the scars; the ice has been used for the Youth Hockey Shootout, and we’ll see how it holds up with the bigger kids. One to scratch for Bridgeport; all seven defensemen rushed. Finley, reportedly banged up, is the scratch. Pedan is starting with Burroughs, which I’ll guess means a reunion of Leboeuf and Newton. Reportedly listed with ‘A’s on the lineup card are Langkow and Vaughan.

  1. Lots up in the air about next year’s roster. Lots of contracts up.

That’s nice. The Captain is playing but there were three alternates named. I thought Bruton & Walters were playing hard and Ness tried to put the team on his back eventhough sunday’s ice was a mess. Any word of the both of them coming back? The team looked very light (in height & weight) against Springfield! I hope it’s because they haven’t filled out yet.

  3. See this story.

And no, neither had the ‘A’ stitched on today, but they were listed on the lineup card. The old Rick Berry “Phantom ‘A’.”

Was Bruton stripped of the captaincy? AHL.com last had him wearing the “C” on Jan. 19. Didn’t noticed that either Langkow or Vaughan had an “A”.
