Stockton playoff roster/Heat leaving

The Stockton Thunder, proud affiliate of the New York Islanders and Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announced their playoff roster. It includes some of each. It has 20 players now (including one in reserve), and the Thunder can add three more over the course of the playoffs from its list of also-eligible players.

And that list of eight eligible players is the eye-catcher.

Andrey Pedan, Matt Mangene, Joey Diamond, Mike Keenan, Mathieu Gagnon, Shawn Boutin, Jason Clark, Alan Quine

Keenan is injured, unfortunately. Three of the rest of them (unless the Thunder roll enough to allow Keenan’s recovery) may get to play in the playoffs, which, “it’s about development” in its assorted ways, was a main purpose of this whole roster shuffle the past month and a half.

If the transactions of the past 16 hours are any indication of a pecking order, that leaves Mangene and Diamond down the list. If they’re not, that leaves guys like Pedan or Quine out.

The team announced that Quine and Diamond were sent to Stockton on the morning of St. Patrick’s Day. The day before, Bridgeport beat Adirondack 5-4. Spending the next month helping set up this also-eligible list, Bridgeport hasn’t won another game.

Meanwhile, that Abbotsford presser? The Heat are in fact gone for parts unknown (or at least unspecified).
