Stockton sweeps: Wednesday notes

Without the injured Andrey Pedan (for the second night in a row), Jeremy Langlois and Alan Quine, Stockton finished off a sweep anyway, coming from behind in the third period to beat Ontario 2-1 Wednesday night. Nick Tremblay*, acquired from Oklahoma City in a February deal for Greg Miller, scored the game-winner, and both Marc Cantin and Riley Wetmore were on the ice for both Thunder goals. Sean Escobedo, from the broadcast, laid out to block a shot in the final minutes.

The Thunder await the winner of Bakersfield-Utah. The Condors would bring Joel Broda (who a whole bunch of Thunder players played with in Bridgeport) and Miller (who played with most of them either in Stockton or in Bridgeport to start the year). That series will take at least until Friday and could stretch to next Wednesday.

I counted 20 of this year’s 65 still active in the ECHL playoffs going into tonight, or at least listed on someone’s roster, not counting Scooter Vaughan and Chris Langkow, listed as eligible but not expected in South Carolina. That number’s down to 19 with Ontario’s and Jake Newton’s elimination.

One of the 65 is still active in the Calder Cup playoffs, though Dallas Jackson didn’t play tonight in Springfield’s overtime win at Providence that opened the postseason. Andrew Joudrey scored the winner. Mike Hedden scored his second in OT to lead the Texas Stars past the Mark Arcobello-less Barons.

(As usual, no promises these happen every night. Will try to keep up, depending on other stuff going on.)

Among Black Aces announced or reported: Jon Landry in Minnesota, Yann Danis in Philly.

Pete Dougherty had the list of games NBC Sports will televise from the World Championship. Keep up with the Donovans, Nelsons and McDonalds.

*-Tremblay has generally been listed with Bridgeport on the AHL’s stats packs because he’d played for OKC before the trade. So some people have counted the Sound Tigers with an extra player along the way. But he never actually played here. It’s 65**, now and forever.

**-Saw one on Twitter today who had 68. I’m not sure how.
